Abbott has advised on all aspects of change of control transactions as both a lawyer and financial advisor and both represented shareholders and acted as a principal in proxy contests and other activist engagements. Abbott has extensive experience with litigation against unfaithful boards of directors and to enforce the rights of shareholders.

Abbott has a J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law and a B.A. From the University of Virginia. Abbott is admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Abbott also serves as a managing member of Driver Management Company, LLC., which has given him a shareholder’s perspective on activist engagements, and is a member of the board of directors of The First of Long Island Corporation (NASDAQ: FLIC).
